The original and most popular version "Do You Wanna Dance" was written by Bobby Freeman, and recorded by him in 1958. It has since been recorded by countless other performers from all around the world, including The Beach Boys, The Ramones, Bette Midler, The Sharows, The Mammas and Pappas, Jan and Dean, Annie, and many more. The song has also inspired many other song writers to create original, but somewhat derivative versions. Here's a small sample of some different versions.
